Mr. Amos Lowery, Jr., age 88, of Smyrna, GA passed away Sunday, August 27, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Wednesday, August 30th at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Vermon Parmer and Chaplain Sherman Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Memorial Park in Smyrna.
Born in New Holland, GA, Mr. Lowery lived in Smyrna for most of his life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served during the Korean War, and retired from the Georgia Power Company after 37 years of employment. He was a graduate of West Fulton High School where he was a member of the Owl’s Club. Mr. Lowery was also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 160 of Smyrna, and a 66 year member of the I.B.E.W. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Lowery, and a daughter, Nancy Parker.
