Albion “Al” Jack, September 25, 1930 – September 30, 2016. He will always be remembered for his humor, kindness, and love of children.
Al proudly served our country as a submarine sailor during the Korean conflict. During his lifetime he was a Cub Scout Master, an active member of Troop 144 following his two sons throughout their Eagle Scout advancement, a member of Meyerhardt Lodge #314, Daylite Lodge #242, Scottish Rite of Atlanta and Master of Kennesaw Lodge #33. Al was a member of First United Methodist Church of Marietta for 30 years and an original member of Sanctuary Church. He retired from the Cobb County School System in 1995, after serving as teacher and administrator for 34 years.
Al is survived by June, his wife of 60 years; son, James of St. Mary’s,GA; daughters, Jenny Jack of the Republic of Panama; Cindy and husband Barry Giornelli of Denver, CO; sister Judy Condron of North Port, NY; daughter-in-law Elaine Jack, brother and sister-in-law William and Veronica Smith; five grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Al is now joined in heaven with son, Dr. Jeffrey Jack of Louisville, KY and toddler son, Brad.
A memorial service will be held at Sanctuary Church, 700 Mars Hill Rd., Kennesaw on October 22, at 3:00 PM with Pastor Craig Bowler, Dr. Charles Sineath, and Reverend Valerie J. Loner officiating. The family will receive guests prior to the service beginning at 2:00 PM.
In lieu of flowers the family suggests tribute donations to either Children's Healthcare of Atlanta Foundation (
