Albert George Jakstadt, age 93, of Marietta, Georgia went home to be with his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ on Tuesday, November 16, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, November 20, 2021 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Bob Carroll officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
Born and raised in Lithuania, Mr. Jakstadt lived in Cincinnati, Ohio for many years before moving to Cobb County in 1996. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean War. He was a talented woodworker, and had designed custom cabinets for home builders before creating and crafting stringed instruments for which he was well known around the musical world. He was a devoted husband and father, and developed an incredibly strong faith in his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Evelyn Jakstadt, in 2017.
Survivors include: Daughter, Diana (Bill) Baughman, Marietta, GA: Son, Eric (Karla) Jakstadt, Marietta, GA; Sister, Wilma (Karl) Seitz; 7 Grandchildren, Nicole (Robert) Tomme, Erin (Dima) Ababiy, Laura (Jason) Baareman, Kristen (Ben) Small, Stormy Jakstadt, Lucas Jakstadt and Summer Jakstadt; 9 Great Grandchildren, Ezra Tomme, Lucy Baareman, Bridget Baareman, Josiah Baareman, Hannah Baareman, Wyatt Small, Piper Small, Brooke Small and Christina Small.
