Albert Rubin Armstrong

December 3, 1936 — April 19, 2021

Pastor Albert R. Armstrong 84, of Brunswick, GA who was a loving husband, a dear father, an intellect, a comedian and a great man of faith passed away in the early morning of April 19th, 2021 at Piedmont Hospital.

Albert was born on December 3rd, 1936 to Albert Delancy Armstrong and Elsie Dorrington Harewood in Philadelphia, PA. Albert grew up in south Philadelphia, graduating from John Bartram High School in 1954 and went on to Lincoln University to study Sociology graduating in 1958.

Shortly after college graduation, he met Catherine Ann Allen and they married, going on to have 3 daughters: Montien Lee, Yvette Clayborne and Jeanine Armstrong.

In 1989 Albert became the Founder and Pastor of New Covenant Church in Brunswick, GA. He was a humble servant of the Lord in ministry for over 36 years and served the local Brunswick Community until his retirement 4 years ago.

Albert's family meant more to him than anything else in the world as he was unendingly proud of daughters and his three grandchildren - Jared Wagnac, Christopher Clayborne and Ashley Clayborne.

Anyone who knew Albert knew that he was the most loving husband and father a family could ask for. Albert was predeceased by parents Albert and Elsie, his brothers Walter and Stanley. He is survived by his wife Catherine, daughters, grandchildren, his brother Jacob Armstrong and a host of nieces and nephews.

There will be a private family viewing held at West Cobb Funeral Home on April 20, 2021 at 10am. Cremation is planned and burial will be at Georgia National Cemetery, inclusive of honorary guards. A celebratory memorial service planned by his immediate family is forthcoming in Brunswick, GA.

The Family is requesting that no flowers be sent at this time but can be held off until the memorial service in Brunswick, GA.
