Adelina Valdes was born on November 24, 1921 in Utuado, Puerto Rico, and passed away peacefully at the age 102, Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday,January 28, 2024 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joaquin Valdes, her father, Delores Santiago Perez, her mother, Angelina Gonzales and her granddaughter Margie Molina.
From the age of five she began cooking in the kitchen, and also assisted in hunting and gathering food for preparation. She was a very resourceful woman. She later worked as a seamstress in garment factories in New York City, New York, while raising her three daughters. She then made her way to Florida, and finally to Georgia. She was a joy to her family and entertained them regularly with her hilarious jokes and fascinating stories. She graced every gathering with her delicious Puerto Rican cuisine often made with fresh herbs and vegetables from her garden. She had a love for birds and flowers and would spend her days tending to both. Her life was a beautiful example of hard work, dedication and success as a wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend. She blessed all who knew and loved her with many wonderful years of devotion and care.
She is survived by three daughters. Nidia Perez, Nelida Garcia and Miriam Garcia. She also has ten grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren and 9 great, great grandchildren.
