Thomas Virgil Garner, age 75, of Powder Springs passed away March 20, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 2 pm on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta with Pastor Ron Burgess officiating. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Thomas is preceded in death by his parents: Gordon and Carrie Garner; sisters: Florence Freeman, Hazel Garner, Claudia Chamblee and brothers: Arthur Garner, Charles Garner, Cliff Garner, George Garner, Edd Garner and Frank Garner.
Thomas was born in Austell and lived in Georgia his entire life. He worked for Ford Motor Company before retiring and proudly served his country in the United States Army. He loved to hunt, fish and woodworking but his favorite hobby was being Papa to his grandchildren. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Juanita Ann Garner; sons: Billy (Rita) Garner and Todd (Robbie) Garner; grandsons: Cameron Garner, Hunter Garner, Greg Chappell, Cody Garner; granddaughters: Shelby Garner, Bailey Rey; sisters: Edith Davis and Evelyn Jones and many nieces and nephews.
